Makaton Level 2 – Online Twilight Session

Makaton Level 2 (Participants must have previously attended a Level 1 course)
Level 2 training is led by Serga, certified Makaton Tutor and a practising early years teacher. The course is delivered over three consecutive weeks 19 May, 26 May and 9 June 5pm to 8pm. With only eight participants, everyone gets the attention they need to ensure accurate signing. It is an active workshop, which is a lot of fun, where participants work individually, in pairs and part of the full team. The course includes the theory and information with is practised in many interactive sessions to ensure accuracy and embed learning. After each session participants are encouraged to practice what they have learned in their own environments. New skills are consolidated and built on from knowledge and practice throughout the three weeks.
Makaton Level 2 builds on the knowledge gained in Level 1 training. . The Makaton Level 2 workshop is recommended for:
- teachers, TAs and early years practitioners who would like to develop their Makaton skills
- parents, family members, carers and workers who need to use Makaton at home and in their work
- participants who need a more detailed knowledge about using and applying Makaton to develop the communication skills of others
During the workshop, you will learn the signs and symbols from Stages 3 and 4 of the Core Vocabulary and the rest of the Additional Vocabulary. You will also become more familiar with current research findings regarding sign and symbol use and symbol design themes used in Makaton.
Included in the cost of the course, you will receive a Participant’s Manual which includes the presentation materials as well as all the signs and symbols for the vocabulary covered in the workshop. You will also receive a Certificate of Attendance on completion of the course.
The course is 3 x 3 hrs session with 30 mins break during each session.
On completion participants may wish to book Level 3 training.
