Overview of the day (notes):
Mixture of presentations and practical inputs/

This day will focus on career planning and will explore the next steps for trainee teachers, including input from employers and career advisors. This will include applying for the first teaching post, the requirements of the NQT year and the possible career pathways open for an early years teacher, including professional leadership roles.

Session 1: Applying for a first teaching post
Session 2: Updating and improving your CV
Session 3: The requirements of the NQT year
Session 4: Leadership pathways and possibilities for early years teachers

  • To improve trainees CVs
  • To explore possible career pathways for early years teachers

1. Read national and local statutory guidance on appropriate EYFS extra curricular activities
2. Interview a teacher with responsibility for running an extra curricular activity with regard to processes and practicalities
3. Make a guide for your placement schools extra curricular activities for children

2. Update and polish your CV; Explore job vacancies
